We seek to accomplish this vision through a Christ-centred, rigorous, evangelical, theological/ ministerial/missions and vocational education, spiritual formation, leadership training, youth and community development projects for effective living, witness, ministry and missions in Africa and in the African diaspora

OUR GOALS include:

1. To educate God’s people through sound Bible education. This is our educational/cultural mandate.

2. To equip the saints for the work of ministry and for leadership. This is our ecclesiastical/missiological mandate.

3. To embrace our community with God’s love - -to use spiritual bases and resources and any other to promote the total development of the whole person (body, soul and spirit). This is our social/communal mandate.

4. To edify the body of Christ - - to build up the church, promote maturity in the church and establish her in sound doctrine (Eph. 4:11-15, Col. 1:27-29, 2 Tim. 3:14-17). This is our pastoral mandate.

5. To evangelize the unsaved at home and abroad. This is our evangelistic/missiological mandate

6. To engage the world (of the unregenerate humanity that presents the challenge of competing worldviews and truth claims to Biblical Christianity) in a gospel dialogue. This is our apologetic mandate

7. To esteem God highly and excel in all we do, for God's glory, in our individual and corporate calling, in our worship of the triune God, walk with God, work of ministry and of agape service, before God, and in our witness to the world. This is our spiritual worship/mandate.

This will include: community support programs with focus on special needs target groups (i.e., needy children, HIV/Aids victims and orphans, needy youth, expecting/new mothers, seniors, the poor, the sick, and the unemployed), and self-support (income-generating) projects through its business wing--the JOBI enterprises.

JOBI intends to provide its anticipated training programs at low and hopefully affordable costs.

JOBI uses the word “college” in its website address (http://www.jumaogekecollege.com/), mainly and currently only for convenience, and does not intend to imply that it is a full blown college. JOBI is NOT a full blown college as yet, but seeks to become one in the near future. JOBI is NOT an accredited educational institution, and is not pursuing secular (governmental) accreditation as yet. JOBI's current programs are mainly for spiritual (religious) purposes in the church. JOBI is however pursuing accreditation with relevant evangelical Christian accrediting agencies. Meanwhile, JOBI is actively seeking academic and missional partnerships and covering with relevant post secondary Christian institutions.

As a conferences and seminars teaching ministry JOBI has been in operation since 2004. JOBI has continued to organize seminars for pastors, church leaders, and youth leaders. It has also carried out evangelistic and church renewal rallies in Western Kenya.

But as an educational institution JOBI is currently in the preparation stage and anticipates to operate initially as mainly a Distance Education discipleship, leadership and youth development institute, with focus on theological training, Christian education, youth development, pastoral training and vocational or professional training. Other anticipated activities include adult literacy, prerequisite courses for admission into advanced academic programs, remedial / preparatory classes for national exams, and career/skills training for youths.

JOBI is actively seeking partnerships with existing churches so it can assist/succeed in the training of pastors, youths, community workers, and any other interested persons. JOBI is at its earliest stages of establishment as a faith and community based leadership and youth development institute. JOBI is currently seeking registration as a community based non profit Christian ministry in Busia District, Western Kenya.

JOBI has acquired two acres of land is actively seeking funds to construct and establish its own teaching and ministry facility. JOBI currently organizes periodic leadership seminars, youth rallies, correspondence studies, group studies, accelerated review seminars, workshops, etc., and is open to new suggestions and more input from education and ministry specialists.

JOBI seeks to be an enabling learning and ministering faith community where participants (teachers, students, pastors, church leaders, volunteer staff, sponsors, and local community) get opportunity to stretch their faith, grow in a personal knowledge of / walk with God, to discover meaning and purpose in their lives so as to live a purpose driven life, and experience fulfillment in their work.
