Our Goals

1. To educate God’s people through sound Bible education.  This is our educational/cultural mandate.

2. To equip the saints for the work of ministry and for leadership. This is our ecclesiastical/missiological mandate.

3. To embrace our community with God’s love - -to use spiritual bases and resources and any other to promote the total development of the whole person (body, soul and spirit).  This is our social/communal mandate.

4. To edify the body of Christ - - to build up the church, promote maturity in the church and establish her in sound doctrine (Eph. 4:11-15, Col. 1:27-29, 2 Tim. 3:14-17).  This is our pastoral mandate.

5. To evangelize the unsaved at home and abroad.  This is our evangelistic/missiological mandate

6. To engage the world (of the unregenerate humanity that presents the challenge of competing worldviews and truth claims to Biblical Christianity) in a gospel dialogue.  This is our apologetic mandate

OUR SHORT-TERM GOAL

1.  To train at least fifty pastors (in Africa) and enable them to graduate with a JOBI Certificate or Diploma in Bible-Theology and Christian Ministries by early 2009.

2. To produce/make available at least twelve JOBI courses on DVDs for our teaching program by mid 2008.

3. To launch online JOBI courses so that ministry students, pastors, and Bible teachers in Africa (Kenya), Canada and elsewhere can register and study via internet

4. To organize and hold periodic TAP (theologians and pastors) fellowships and conferences for the African (Kenyan) diaspora.  The objective of the TAP fellowship conferences include: (a) to encourage Kenyan (or African) pastors and theologians serving among/desiring to serve the African immigrants (the African Church in the diaspora) in North America (b) to encourage the African churches in the diaspora to tap, utilize, exploit, maximize, make the most of/out of, draw from/on the mostly unused/almost wasted yet highly trained African theologians, ministers, educators, intellectuals who have migrated to the West, yet find themselves under-utilized.  Our first TAP fellowship conference is scheduled for December, 2008.  Details about the actual dates, venue and speakers will be made available soon.

OUR IMMEDIATE NEEDS (2007-2008)

1.  To purchase or secure through donations teaching equipment for use in Africa: a DVD player, video projector, computers for power point, screens, a generator, and PA system, and office equipment.  Some of these are needed by August 2008.  We also need office equipment for our JOBI Canada office.  Our JOBI-Kenya staff are in need of at least three bicycles for travel in coordinating leadership seminars.  Motor-cycles would be most suitable.

2.  To construct at least one building block at Busia and one at Kitale to serve as initial JOBI centres for our Kenyan ministry.  This will provide offices, seminar halls, (classes),  safe storage for our ministry and teaching equipment, and library.

3.  To find and make available funds for four JOBI courses, seminars, conferences and other practical ministry programs (such as JOBI's ministry to children).

4.  To find sponsors and/or financial support for at least TWO full-time JOBI leaders and associate teachers in Kenya, and for our director,   so he can be able to lead, serve and teach in the JOBI ministry full time, and thus be effective and successful in developing and producing all the necessary components of the JOBI curriculum (i.e., course DVDs, syllabi, study manuals, etc.).

5.  Special prayers for anointing, strength and speed for our team as they prepare the JOBI courses on DVDs, and on study manuals, for immediate use in the JOBI leadership/pastors seminars in Kenya, Canada, and elsewhere.
